"The Defenders" on Netflix?

The Defenders
Netflix and Marvel are reported to be very inclined in pursuing an ambitious project to release several different series based on four different characters that will eventually culminate in a big team-up series featuring all of them working together.

Daredevil was the first of these shows and it was a big hit among both critics and viewers. Per Variety, Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos told the Television Critics Association press tour last 28 July that Netflix is planning to release a new series based on a different character every six months or so.

With the first season of Daredevil out of the way, viewers can expect to see the first season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones air in late 2015, after which everyone will presumably see series featuring Luke Cage and Iron Fist in 2016, along with the second season of Daredevil.

"I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you’ll get a new season or a new series from the Defenders group," Sarandos explained. "And then they’ll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we’ve launched the first season of each of the four characters."

Sarandos also said that more characters besides Daredevil could get second seasons of their own series although he offered no hints about which ones those would be.

Given that viewers still have two more characters' shows to air in 2016, it is not hard to imagine the earliest everyone will see "The Defenders" on Netflix will be in 2017 at the very earliest. That said, everyone should not mind waiting — the first season of Daredevil was terrific fun and Marvel followers have high hopes for Jessica Jones once it debuts later this year.
