"Jessica Jones" is All About Action and Sex

Jessica Jones
Netflix has unveiled in an advance screening another kind of superhero drama: Marvel’s Jessica Jones. This one features more violence, more action, more oral sex, more illicit lesbian affair, more hot and steamy casual doggy-style sex between heroine (Krysten Ritter) and her love interest Luke Cage (Mike Colter).

This show is simply about some quippy everyman realizing that he has both the power and responsibility to help people. It is also about a group of sexual victims who decide to rise up and become heroes that fight back against their oppressor. Every choice in the show pushes back against Marvel’s typical pattern.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is based on the Alias comics that debuted almost 15 years ago as a part of Marvel’s MAX line.

It was meant to be the first R-rated comic from the family-friendly publishing house and follows the misadventures of a former superhero-turned-private detective named Jessica Jones. She is, as Luke Cage describes her in the trailer, "a hard-drinking, short-fused, mess of a woman." She’s also one of the most compelling characters created for Marvel in the 21st century.

The new trailer gives us a fuller scope of Jessica Jones' dry wit and kick-ass superpowers. It also reveals more about the plot than ever before.

Fans of the comics already know that Jessica’s main adversary is a man named Kilgrave (David Tennant). He's sometimes called the Purple Man and he has the insidious ability to take over someone’s mind. It seems that Marvel’s Jessica Jones will pick up well after the two’s first encounter and will focus on Jessica’s crusade to not only bring Kilgrave down, but prove that he even exists.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones debuts on Netflix last 20 November.
