Just to show everyone that gay people will not tolerate anybody that will not play with their rules, producers of "True Blood" series compelled one actor to quit.
According to BuzzFeed's Louis Peitzman, they may have uncovered a controversial case of Luke Grimes, the actor who joined Season 6 as James, Jessica's high-cheekboned, brooding loner boyfriend in the vampire concentration camp. The story started when reports surfaced last December 2013 that Grimes had left the production — his highest profile role to date — over "creative differences."
Subsequent follow-up seems to have revealed what those creative differences might've actually been: The "True Blood" writers were refashioning James as a not only a love interest for Jessica, but also a love interest for Lafayette. In accordance with his beliefs and principles, Grimes decided that playing a gay role was unacceptable. Playing a mythical and fictional blood-sucking demon and occasional murderer is one thing, but an intolerant and sexually-addicted gay is another matter for Grimes.
Also, the show has already featured almost all of its vampire character as gay, so maybe they thought that having one more is alright. Well, it is not because in the real world, gay people represent a small minority of the population. It doesn't make sense that in the show, almost 80 percent of the male vampire are gay.
In any case, Grime may have been lucky to quit this early because, if rumors are true, this could be the last season of the horrible show. For very obvious reasons, the mainstream turned off the show in a big way a couple of seasons ago and no introduction of another mystical creature can change that. Critics view the series as a frequently laughable exercise in insanity and has never wavered from that mission, so those claiming an improvement in quality are very much misremembering its origins.
