China's Iron Man Robot

Chinese Iron Man
A new Chinese space robot that looks like it could have designed and built by Tony Stark has been unveiled at Shanghai’s 17th annual China International Industry Fair.

The humanoid robot, named Xiaotian ("Little Sky"), has been painted in the distinctive metallic maroon and gold colors instantly recognizable as the colors of Iron Man. It even has a glowing chest piece where Tony Stark’s armor usually houses its "arc reactor".

According to Chinese state news agency Xinhua (via The Hollywood Reporter), the robot has incredibly dexterity and was built by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. for use in future Chinese space missions. The robot’s hands are reported to have the dexterity of the human hand. The image above doesn’t really seem to have hands so everyone should have to wait and see how that works out.

"Iron Man 3" was an especially big hit in China, and even filmed scenes that were specifically designed to appeal to the Chinese market. The Chinese have fallen in love with western movies in recent years and the Marvel franchise is a huge part of what draws them into theaters. Even "Ant-Man" was a huge smash there,

It looks to us that science just took one giant leap towards making Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor a reality.
