Help Save Lives of Typhoon Victims

Typhoon Haiyan
According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the number of families affected by Super Typhoon "Yolanda" (international name: Haiyan) has reached the two million mark. This is composed of 9.53 million individuals in total as local government units (LGUs) from Regions IV-A and B, V, VI, VII, VIII, X, and CARAGA continue to assess the extent of the disaster.

Some 96,039 displaced families with 449,416 persons are staying in 1,790 evacuation centers, while 36,627 other families with 182,379 persons temporarily sought shelter in their friends and relatives’ houses.

This is the primary why UNICEF Philippines are rushing into position to deliver aid. More emergency experts are also on the way. In Copenhagen, 60 metric tons of emergency supplies — for the health, medical and shelter needs of children — are being readied for an emergency airlift, to arrive within 48 hours.

Every moment matters for these typhoon victims, especially children. Please, support UNICEF'S emergency response in the Philippines: US$ 50, US$ 100, US$ 250, US$ 500 or any amount you can give will help save kids' lives.
