Google Philippines Still Hiring?

Google PHL
Since early last year, everyone in the information industry and technology-oriented courses know that Google will be opening their regional branch in Asia. What is not clear, however, is whether or not representative offices will be opened in several countries.

Everything was made plain after the search giant opened its fifth representative office in the Philippines and hired former Friendster executive Narciso Reyes as its first country manager.

The other Google offices in the Southeast Asian region are located in Malaysia, Thailand, and most recently Indonesia over the past several years, aside from its regional Singapore office. The Philippine office will reportedly be located in Makati.

With its local presence here now official, executives said Filipinos can expect Google to play a more significant role in the everyday lives of Filipinos, as well as in the development of local communities.

“We’re excited to be deepening our investment in the Philippines with the opening of our office here in Manila,” Reyes said. “Our local team will be committed to providing services to our Filipino users and to helping businesses — large and small — grow locally and globally, contributing to the growth of the Philippine economy.”

Another good news for Filipinos is this bit of information saying that Google said it is currently hiring employees for its Manila office, with postings already uploaded on its website.

The Mountain View, California-based company had, in recent years, continually tapped local talent to sell its AdWords and other search advertising products to local companies and advertisers, industry watchers have said.
