Remember the time that gun owners were singled out by the liberals and even outed in media for supporting a violent culture? It was later followed by calls and public shaming of police officers who were suspected of violating the rights of minorities, as if it is any different from what the right of everyone.
Well, the tables have turned and it took one Democrat Mayor from St. Louis to do that.
Mayor Lyda Krewson is hailed by many supporters and advocates of transparency for reading aloud during a public briefing the full names and street addresses of protesters who are calling on the city to defund the police department.
Mayor Krewson was answering questions during a Facebook Live briefing last 26 June, which she has held regularly during the coronavirus pandemic, when someone asked about a meeting she had with demonstrators outside City Hall earlier in the day.
The mayor responded that the conversation "wasn’t really a two-way conversation… because there was a very loud response from the demonstrators," NBC's affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri KSDK reported.
The protesters had given her written outlines of their proposals for how the city could better allocate money that now goes to the police department, and Krewson stepped away from the camera to grab the papers from her desk as the briefing was still streaming live.
The mayor started reading the suggestions out loud, including giving out the first and last names of the writers, as well as the streets where they live. In some instances, she gave people's exact addresses, KSDK reported. Many of the proposals suggested that the city should budget zero dollars for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
It was hilarious. Protesters getting nurned by their own tactics. A good taste of their own medicince. The Facebook Live video has since been deleted, but the reaction online was ecstatic and netizens loved it.
One commenter said: "If people gave their names and addresses why is that secret information. If they believe in their cause and confidentiality was not requested by them, let them stand for what they claim to believe."
Another one added: "Aren't many of the same people who are upset about having their opinion c shared after voluntarily sending it to a public official, the same people as routinely "dox" others who quietly make contributions to causes they oppose?"
Here is a good observation: "So the ones demanding are afraid of their actions. I bet they will be demanding police protection. Nice one Mayor give phone numbers out too."
