Google is currently testing a new way to deliver search results, which turns the results black instead of blue, and some users are up in arms about it.
Disgruntled searchers have turned to Twitter to express their outrage over the change, which currently only shows up for some users. One Google searcher, @MikeClise, tweeted: "Really didn't like being a "black and blue" guinea pig @google. I thought I was going insane with the black links."
Others called the change "confusing" and "terrible." Some just expressed curiosity over the shift or simply commented "wow."
Google has a long history of testing tweaks on its search results page, the company's cash cow. If you wind up with unwanted ink-black links, there's hope yet. You can band together with like-minded folks under the Twitter hashtag #BringBacktheBlue, or try shaking yourself free from the test group by logging off and logging back in again.
"We're always running many small-scale experiments with the design of the results page," a Google spokeswoman said. "We're not quite sure that black is the new blue."
